This weekend’s events include Relapse Prevention, Juneteenth, and Father’s Day workshops. Bring OA friends and consider starting, or joining, a Relapse Prevention small group. Join the OA BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color Intergroup) Juneteenth workshop. Celebrate Father’s Day with the OA Men’s Intergroup in a Father’s Day workshop. You are invited to attend the Region 2 Convention in person or online, July 7-9, Recovery: Putting the Pieces Together. We invite you to accept a call to service for our Virtual Region 2024 Convention. Save the date for March 1-3, 2024. Last year, our convention reached thirty-four countries in five languages, and was attended by 150 first-time newcomers! We welcome you to join our convention committee in the planning of carrying the message. Call for service meetings: Saturday, June 17, 12:00 pm ET (UTC -4) or Sunday, July 9, 1:00 pm ET (UTC -4). Virtual Region applications are now being accepted for the open board positions of Digital Content Coordinator and Secretary. We are the youngest OA region. If your interest is sparked and/or if you have questions, please call. We will train, mentor, and learn from each other. Two years of abstinence is required. Save the dates: Saturday, August 26 at 6 pm ET (UTC -4) and Sunday, August 27 at 12 noon ET (UTC -4) for the Carry the Message Workshop (same workshop repeated twice). Saturday, June 5th 10am-1pm EST Winifred from OA here letting you know about an upcoming event: Our own Mardi has graciously invited everyone who can come to her lovely lakeside home for the 10am EST meeting, Saturday, June 5th. If you can’t make it in person, the meeting will also be on zoom. After the meeting, we will spend time together with a “meeting after the meeting” so we can catch up with old friends and meet some of our new friends in person. Feel free to bring your picnic lunch and to bring your family. There is plenty of room to spread out in the sunshine or shade in the fresh air. Come enjoy a day of outdoor fun and fellowship for the whole family. Saturday, April 17th The park is open 7AM- 5:30 PM, so you can spend the entire day if you like. We will have PawPaw Shelter rented from 12:00-2:00PM for lunch and fellowship, so bring your cooler and lunch for yourself, if you wish. There are plenty of paved and unpaved walking trails, as well as Kayak, Tube and Bike rentals (or you can bring your own) We will have some group walks in the afternoon, as well as a kayak trip down the river for those who want to participate. Check out the website for Saluda shoals for activities and rental pricing. No charge for parking, just say you are with OA at the gate. Follow the signs in the park for PawPaw shelter. A Seventh Tradition will be taken in person, or by Venmo or Paypal, if you wish to contribute.
